Reuth raises £1000 from Maccabi Fun Run

On Sunday 14th June 2015, 12 people represented the British Friends of Reuth, in the Maccabi Community Fun Run. The participants ran and walked various distances and together they raised over £1000 for the Reuth Medical Centre in Israel. The money raised will go towards the Quality of Life Programmes, which enable patients to reconnect with their identity. Being active in “normal” activities helps them feel meaning and passion, and reclaim their inner sense of worth.

At our stand in the Charity Zone, we had a large jar of sweets and asked people to guess how many sweets were in the jar. Ben Cohen guessed 190 sweets which was the closest to the actual amount being 179. Well done Ben and happy eating.

Overall 2,000 people participated in this event and completed one of five race distances – (the 10km, 5km, 5km Walk, 1km and Tri-Run) and 48 Jewish charities took part, raising a total of £210,000, more-than-doubling last year’s figure of £100,000.
