Son of Former Israeli Finance Minister, Yair Lapid in winning group of Reuth’s Hackathon
Ouchy – a pain management application – is the winner of the first ReutHack event, held in the context of Reuth's 80th anniversary celebrations. 100 highly motivated young application developers rose to the challenge during a 30 hour hackathon : creating new technologies for maximizing the rehabilitation potential of patients at the Reuth Rehabilitation Hospital in Tel Aviv.
The hackers were supported throughout the event by a multi-professional clinical team from Reuth, as well as senior mentors from leading technological companies, including Microsoft, Philips, Elbit Systems, the JVP Venture Capital Fund and others.
The winning group including Yoav Lapid, son of former Israeli Finance minister Yair Lapid, developed an application, “Ouchy” which enables patients to keep a digital user-friendly diary documenting their pain according to various parameters, including: intensity, frequency, physical and emotional aspects, physical activity and changes in weather. In this way the application supports personalized medicine, enabling health professionals to process the data, draw conclusions, and adapt treatments to every patient's precise personal needs.
Judges at the ReutHack included: Prof. Rafi Heruti - Head of the hospital's Rehabilitation Division, Rami Bracha – Managing General Director at Pitango, Tal Barnoach – Founder and General Partner at Disruptive, Yuval Shachar – General Partner and Co-Founder at the Marker venture capital firm, Merav Weinryb – Director with Qualcomm Ventures Israel and Sivan Shamri Dahan - Partner at Qumra Capital.
The judges awarded the 2nd place to ShikuMeet – a social platform designed to enhance patients' motivation and improve their hospitalization experience by practicing personal and group games adapted to their abilities, and receiving professional feedback on their progress.
In 3rd place: PhysioVator (combination of physiotherapy & motivation) – aiming to increase patients' motivation via exercises for continuing the rehabilitation process at home.
Winners in the first three places received monetary prizes: 10,000 NIS for 1st place, 7,500 NIS for 2nd place, and 2,500 NIS for 3rd place. In addition, MindSpace Ltd. will provide the three winning teams with three well-equipped work stations at the company's boutique offices on Rothschild St. in Tel Aviv.
