Chief Rabbi Mirvis is the 11th Chief Rabbi of the United Hebrew Congregations of the Commonwealth and began working in this post in September 2013. He was born in 1956 into a rabbinical family in South Africa, He is a Talmudic scholar having studied in Israeli yeshivot. He has held educational and community positions in Israel, Ireland and the UK. He was the Chief Rabbi of Ireland
